NFPA 70E - Preventing Workplace Shock & Arc Flash Events

Arc Shock and Flash event prevention is an important but necessary component of a sound safety program. Because these critical events can happen in a variety of circumstances without warning, organization personnel need this information.

This dynamic presentation will provide some safe tips on the importance of training your electricians and maintenance crews how to recognize and avoid Shock and Arc Flash events. It will also help attendees understand the essentials of NFPA 70E that helps save lives and property.

Cindy Kyle is Safety Manager with Frank M. Booth, Inc., a mechanical contractor and engineering firm based in Marysville, CA. She has worked in construction most of her adult life, spending almost 18 of those years with a union electrical contractor as their Safety/Risk Manager.

Cindy is an instructor for IBEW JATC teaching various safety classes; OSHA 10 & 30, CPR/First Aid, NFPA 70E, etc. Her employer, FM Booth recently achieved the OSHA VPP Golden Gate Recognition.
