Prior to founding DiPietro & Associates Inc, (D&A), David DiPietro served for 10 years in the U.S. Coast Guard as a Helicopter Rescue Swimmer, Aviation Survivalman and EMT Instructor.  During this period, congress directed the Coast Guard to enhance their medical and emergency response capabilities with Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs).   The order to develop and implement one of the nation’s first non-clinician AED programs was given to the CG EMT School where then, ASM1 DiPietro, was assigned.  After three years of product development input to AED manufacturers, treatment protocols design, curriculum development, and certification of over 1500 Coast Guard members, the program was successfully rolled out to approximately 300 Coast Guard units.  ASM1 DiPietro’s accomplishments were recognized with the award of the Coast Guard Achievement Medal.

With the award of a consulting contract from Nellcor-Puritan Bennett, David DiPietro, and the newly formed D&A, successfully made the transition from military service to private sector.  Armed with an in-depth knowledge of AEDs, instructional technology, and a proven track record for implementing Public Access Defibrillation (PAD) programs, D&A was then retained by Seattle based HeartStream (now Phillips Medical Systems) and later by several other AED Manufacturers, including HeartSine/Physio (now Stryker), and ZOLL Medical, to become one of the country’s first independent distributors and AED program providers in the fledgling AED market.  Currently, DiPietro & Associates is the only Authorized Distributor of HeartSine/Physio/Stryker for PAD in California and among the top 5 national distributors for ZOLL Medical.
