30 plus Common OSHA Citations You Can Easily Avoid

Understanding “what” Cal/OSHA is looking for is a valuable tool to understanding Cal/OSHA compliance issues, and will likely help avoid receiving a citation for those issues that are easily avoidable citations and will allow you to improve your basic job-site safety. In this presentation, we will address 30 (plus) common violative conditions found on most facilities and work sites.

About our speaker: Paul A. Andersen is a Senior Safety Advisor at OSHA Compliance Services, LLC.  He has 25 years as a Safety Professional, holds several professional certifications, and is a Registered Environmental Assessor (REA).   Paul formerly worked for Cal/OSHA as an Associate Safety Engineer in Cal/OSHA’s High Hazard Unit. Paul is a subject matter expert with Cal/OSHA Title 8 Standards, CFR 1910, CFR 1926 and is an authorized OSHA Outreach Instructor CSTI Training and is certified by the California State Fire Marshal Office as a Fire Incident Investigator I.

Possessing a strong technical background and pragmatic business acumen and has a proven history of success working with federal and state regulatory agencies to assist his clients with safety and compliance issues.   During this presentation, he will share his experience and knowledge gained while working as an Associate Safety Engineer for Cal/OSHA Enforcement Division, High Hazard Unit.

Learning Outcome 1: The audience will take away a better understanding of the OSHA enforcement inspection goals, targeted items/issues, methods of gaining facts of (employer) admissions and documenting the violative condition.

Learning Outcome 2: Armed with the knowledge offered in this presentation, the attendees will be able to create and implement "safety and compliance" procedures to help ensure "compliance" and support workplace safety.
