Jim Breuner is the Safety & Compliance Superintendent with Alameda Municipal Power and has been there since 2015. Prior to this, Jim was with PG&E for 30 years.

During his tenure with PG&E he spent about 13 years doing claims and lawsuit investigations, and roughly 11 years as a full-time safety program coordinator and ergonomic consultant where one of his primary responsibilities was leading the root cause investigations of work-related injuries for his assigned internal clients.

Before leaving PG&E, he served as a Damage Prevention Specialist, and travelled throughout the service territory speaking to contractors, government entities, and excavators about how to avoid digging into underground utilities and everything they ever wanted to know about the 811 Call Before You Dig process.

Jim developed an article for Incident Prevention magazine in March of this year which is the foundation for the presentation for our July special meeting and vendor fair.  He uses real life examples to illustrate what happens without the proper safety culture and how productivity suffers after an incident, injury or death.  Read Jim's March 2017 Article for Incident Prevention Magazine.
